Hey guys...

We’re supposed to introduce ourselves, so here goes

My name is Jessica, I go by that or Jess, or any other cool nickname you want to give me, I love nicknames. I am 22 years old and currently live in Riverdale Georgia, about 10 minutes from the airport. I am originally from California and moved to GA 5 years ago after being in California for 13 years. I graduated H.S. in 2007 and went to Savannah College of Art and Design for 2 years with a focus on photography. I realized that wasn’t where God was calling me major wise and school wise, so I took some time off to figure it out, and it has been the best decision I’ve made about school. The time off has been longer than what I expected, but I feel God is really revealing things to me regarding His plan for my life.

I currently work two jobs. I’m a weekday teacher at Buckhead Church and a nanny to four year old twins. If im not at either job, I’m probably babysitting, or serving with middle schoolers or 3 year olds on Sundays. Needless to say, Im constantly surrounded by kids and busy. When I actually do have some down time, I like to read/listen to music, hang with my friends, or anything fun.

I love zebra’s and am terrified of snakes, along with feet. I am obsessed with TOMS shoes and the color yellow. I love my iCal because it helps keep the craziness of my life controlled, and i can color coordinate. I’ve been on three other mission trips. Mexico (week), when I was younger as a family trip, Brazil (10 days) when I was a sophomore in college with a group of students from my church, and recently Africa (1 month) this past November. I planned the whole Africa trip by myself and teamed up with an organization (YWAM) once I got there. That trip changed my life and confirmed my heart and desire to go into missions.

I am really excited just to go and have an impact on all the people we will meet. I’m excited to get to spend three months on my life in Uganda doing God’s work. I will miss my kids, but I know that God will provide little ones in Uganda to fill that void while I’m away. I’m most nervous about not knowing. Not knowing all God has in store for us there, and not knowing how life will be after. I trust God and His plan for this trip, sometime its easy to loose focus and start questioning and taking things into my own hands instead of surrendering things to Him. Im ready to go live out James 1:27
